World Data Forum: UN Statistics director hopes for a new data architecture

One thing that we all have in common and that drives and us drove out here, is that we all care about good data and good statistics in support of development. We all know that the information requirements have tremendously increased; we all – I hope – know and agree that the national statistics offices, the national statistics systems – that have for years and years and years provided the information basis – have to be at the center future data universe, but there also has to be a dialogue between all of us. This event is really all about that: bringing this data stakeholders groups of things together and starting a hopefully fast dialogue of how to rebuild this data national architecture.
