What’s the difference between a SPA and a web app? | One Dev Question: Jean-Marc Prieur

>>In the context of
the Microsoft identity platform, what’s the difference between a single-page application–which
we named SPA–and a Web app? So, this is pretty simple. SPA, single-page
applications, they are written in JavaScript and
the are applications that sign in users, and that
acquire tokens, and even call Web APIs, directly from
the browser using JavaScript. Whereas, what we name in the Microsoft Identity
Platform, web apps, they are applications which render some HTML and
JavaScript in the browser but really, the processing and calling
web APIs, is done on the backend. So that’s the difference
between SPA and Web apps.
