Searching the Joanna Briggs Institute EBP Database

The Joanna Briggs Institute EBP Database provides
evidence summaries, evidence based recommended practices, and consumer level information
for nursing, midwifery and other health professions. Access the database via the Nursing and Midwifery
Library Guide. At the top of the screen there are a number
of tabs that allow you to access other OVID resources.
Stay on the search tab to use the JBI Database. The JBI Database gives you a number of search
options. The Advanced Search is easy to use, gives
focused results and provides a number of ways to limit your search. The evidence based publications found in JBI
fall into three broad categories. Evidence overviews such as Evidence Summaries
and Systematic Reviews. Professional guidance such as Best Practice
Information Sheets and Recommended Practices. Patient information such as Consumer Information
Sheets You can limit your search by selecting one
or more of these Publication Types as well as the Subject Area and Publication Year. When you scroll through your search results
each reference has a label which indicates what kind of publication it is. You can access full text by clicking on the
JBI Database PDF Link If you wish to perform a more complex, Boolean
style search, then the Multi-Field Search is a good option You can export the references in a variety
of formats, including Endnote, by marking the records and taking the Export Option link For more information visit the Library website – www.library.uq.edu.au
