>>[Background Music] Let’s take a look at how easy it is
to use the mobile NIOSH pocket guide to chemical hazards. First, let’s search for a chemical. In the search bar, enter a chemical name, the
CAS number, the RTECS number, or the DOT number. The app will return a list of matching
chemicals in the database. Tapping on your choice will bring up a table that presents
all the data in the pocket guide for that chemical. If you don’t want to see all that data, you can tap
on preferences to choose which fields you want to see. You can start by tapping All/None at the top
of the list to deselect all of the fields. And then tap next to each field you want to see. Tap on Save Preferences. Tap on the chemical details icon in the
footer to return to the chemical details view. Now you see only the fields that you’ve selected. Your preferences are saved over user sessions so each time you
display the chemical details view, you’ll see the same fields. To change your preferences at any
time, tap on the preferences’ icon and change your preferences by selecting or deselecting fields. Then tap save preferences. You will see only your preferred
data for any chemical you select. If you deal with this chemical a lot, you can add
it to your favorites by tapping on add to favorites. When you come back to use the app again, you
don’t have to search for the chemical again. To remove a favorite from the list. Tap on the same button which now says remove favorite. You can go to the favorites view by
tapping on the icon in the footer. This will bring up a list of your favorites. Just tap that chemical name to call up the data. Let’s look closer at the chemical view. You’ll see several types of links. Links to internal resources within the app and links
to external resources such as NIOSH and OSHA methods and IDLH immediately dangerous to life and health. These will only be available if you
have an active internet connection. Tap on the link and then tap okay on the pop up to
leave the app and access these external resources. [ Music ] The app also includes all chemical data and appendices in the
