#EIFAsks on how to provide a digital economy and society

– We want to have a
budget driven by results. What does it mean results? Results for citizens, and
results for the economy. There is no possibility to have economy European economy with new
competitive advantages without data-driven economy, so I think that discussion of the budget when we are discussing about priorities should give the possibilities
to the European Union to all member states horizontally to create this European added value which means to have money
for digital development. – Digital is horizontal. So it should be present in
all the parts of the MFF. If we concentrate on one part it means that it is
just one of the sectors. Now digitalization is horizontal, that’s why we should fight
for having it everywhere and this is what we are trying to do now. It’s so important because we had some horizontal elements in the past still valid, like for example sustainable. I think today, digital means something as important as sustainable. – Digital and MFF or which role? Digital investments
should play in our budgets post 2020. The European budget in six years has some instruments and has a potential for to leverage. Digital investments for to
realise digital projects. But, it should do much more. – Digital has to make sure that it achieves practical results. So we get to market uptake of products and genuine results and not just a high-level university
or academic research that is not resulting
into practical products. The next time I have to gather a boat with the fronts that would be assigned and with the tools that
will manage their assignment should make sure that
we achieve those goals.
