#EIFasks Commissioner Bienkowska on the Future of Work

(lively music) – Extremely difficult question. We don’t know really how even in the next five years time, what kind of job will appear, so the question is really
difficult, it’s broad, but what we for sure know, is that we need to be
prepared as fast as possible. Fast to fast changes.
Fast preparedness for for fast changes that we are experiencing, and of course number one
things are IT skills. This is something inevitable. This is something which will be needed starting from, I don’t know, teachers to car producers. But what else I think is very interesting is this creativity. This creative part of future work and future jobs. This is something which definitely will not be able to be
replaced by any robots, by any unhuman creatures. So, I think that what we need to very much put attention is of
course these IT skills, but on the other hand
those creativity, arts. This kind of things that
for the last few years were not maybe very much
appreciated by the society, because we wanted our kids to learn Economy, Law, Legal Sciences and something like this. What I know is that really
the world is changing much faster than it has changed during the previous revolutions. This one is fault, but this is the fastest one, and we need to adapt. We need to take this as an opportunity, and what I always keep repeating, we cannot stop those changes. We cannot stop this revolution, so we need to adapt and
we need to be prepared, especially in Europe. We have different initiatives, i.e.: we have several of them. Let me mention maybe just two. First one: Blue print
for sectoral cooperation. This is an initiative
which will also co-finance the first discussion, the cooperation between, at the regional
level, between industry, different kind of educational
institutions, authorities, just to find out in a best possible way, what kind of jobs for
this particular region will be needed in the years to come. The other one is the
Digital Skills Agenda, so the programme for people, for society just to make the IT abilities better and again faster.
