-You working out? Oh, good girl. That’s good work. -Can you appreciate? Okay. One of Cinder’s many fans here. Cinder doesn’t appreciate dogs,
but, oh, well. I’m holding Cinderblock, who has been staying with us
for about two weeks, and she’s kind of become
an overnight sensation because of a video of her
in the underwater treadmill. -You working out? Oh, good girl. That’s good work. -But we didn’t anticipate
this kind of attention at all. So we’re tickled to have
the attention, and we’re really
just trying to use it for a positive message for,
you know, owners to realize that maybe
their pet might be overweight and that there are
a lot of different things we can do to help them
as the veterinarian profession. So, Cinder is female. She’s about eight years old. Not exactly sure
of her birth date because she was a stray when she was taken in
by her previous owner. She is 21 and a half pounds now. She’s down from 21. 8 when she arrived here. All of her extra fat puts a lot
of pressure on her lungs, and so there’s a lot
of secondary consequences to being this heavy. She’s getting a little annoyed
with me now. Oh, there you go, Cinder. She has had a lot of
media attention, so she’s — oh, she’s gonna go over and have
a little bit to eat, I think. Oh, she’s coming back to say hi. And so we’re hoping, again,
this can be a positive for the charities here in Whatcom County as well as
to raise awareness for owners and to shame them
about their pet’s condition, but just more to encourage them
to reach out and talk to their veterinarian. There you go.
One more. Bye!

  1. Not only are Americans obese, their pets are obese too. Truly a sick nation. No wonder you voted man-child Trump to be your great leader. You people deserve each other.
